WHY I READ IT

CP is a must read author of mine!

WHAT I RATED IT

WHAT IT’S ABOUT

WARNING: Author believes in soul mates and insta-love, proceed with caution if you’re not a romantic at heart.

Love’s greatest cure is salvation of one’s soul.

Shane Sherman has a problem. Well, two, actually. One has auburn hair and pale-green eyes, and the other? . . . Is a secret. One he doesn’t want to talk about. But all that changes when Sage comes to town.

Sage Sloan is being stalked. So she runs to Trails End and the bravest man her sister said she’d ever met. Sergeant Shane Sherman.

Sparks fly, tempers flare, and bears misbehave as Shane and Sage find a way to coexist in Trails End. That is, until a killer comes to call. Then all bets are off. Shane isn’t about to lose his saving grace.

This is the third and final book in the Reason Series. I highly recommend you read books one and two before “A Reason To Live.”

Rated R for sexual content, language, and M for Maxine.

JENN’S REVIEW

My love for all things CP Smith runs deep. I still remember the first time I read A Reason to Breathe and the feelings I had while reading. When I finished I told anyone who would listen they had to check out this incredible author and book. Five books later, I am still signing her praises and gobbling up anything she writes.

A Reason to Live welcomes us back into the Gunnison/Hunter fold, but even better, we get more Maxine! Sometimes, secondary characters can be easily forgotten, but not Maxine. She stands out and forces you to take notice. She won’t be ignored and will give you advice whether you need it or not. Everyone should have a Maxine in their lives.

Shane is a broken man, and the only person who can fix him, Sage, is the sister of the reason he is broken in the first place.  CP Smith is known for her insta-love. Thankfully, it is always instant love done right, and believable. This time, I wasn’t so sure that love would prevail in the story. Shane is deep inside his own head, and there were more than a few times I didn’t think Sage was going to be able to bring him out of it. It certainly wasn’t for lack of trying. Sage never gave up on Shane, even when he did everything in his power to push her aside. Shane and Sage’s story, for me, was more emotional than the other stories in the Reason Series.

As always with CP Smith, you get fantastic writing, well-fleshed out characters and a story that hooks you from the first word to the last. You also get fast paced action and suspense. You basically get the entire package wrapped up in an  amazing book. This was another outstanding read from Smith, and I cannot wait to see what she gives us next.
