breathe with me

Kristen Proby is an automatic one-click, and the With Me in Seattle series is one of my favorite family sagas.

Sometimes you meet the right person at the wrong time…

Mark Williams has loved Meredith since he was seventeen. A successful man with a strong family, he’s worked hard to move on from Meredith breaking his heart all those years ago. When his path crosses with the only woman he’s ever loved again years later, Mark knows there is nothing he won’t do to keep her in his life. But when the going gets tough, will Meredith stick around or will he lose her again?

…But true love has a way of finding its way back.

Meredith Summers is a dancer. One of the first things she learned in following her dreams is that timing is everything. She has spent the past ten years following her dream touring with mega-stars while trying to forget the high school sweetheart she left behind. Now she’s back in Seattle, running a successful dance studio with her best friend Jax and determined to move on from her gypsy past. Until the day she sees Mark Williams and time stands still. It’s as if no time has passed at all when Meredith finds herself in Mark’s arms again. The chemistry, the bonds and the love are as strong as ever and hearing Mark whisper breathe with me in her ear is a balm to her wounded soul. But will she grab onto this second chance at love, or is the timing all wrong for them again?

Just when I thought that Caleb would be my forever With Me In Seattle boyfriend, Kristen Proby brings us Mark Williams, Luke’s brother who we knew was good looking, and always flirted with the guys’ girls. I had no idea what to expect from Mark’s story. With all the other Seattle guys, Kristen gave us a little bit about their stories in previous books, but not so much with Mark.  I was so excited to get to feast on him with fresh eyes…. And what a feast it was!

Mark has finally left his job in Alaska and settled in Seattle, where his family is. It is there that he comes in contact with his high school girlfriend, Meredith. Mark and Meredith have not seen in 10 years since she left to pursue her dream of dancing in New York City. In unfortunate circumstances, their reunion takes place at Meredith’s mother’s funeral.

The sparks are instant with Mark and Meredith. While the chemistry is there, they both recognize that ten years have passed and they are not the same people that were in a relationship when they were seventeen. As Mark and Meredith take the time to learn about each other, the quickly fall back in love. Unfortunately, there are demons in Meredith’s closet, demons that threaten to tear Mark and Meredith apart before they get their chance at a happily ever after.

As with all of the With Me In Seattle books, Kristen Proby does a brilliant job of mixing sex and humor. I love that we get to see all of the gang together and catch up with them. The Vegas trips rivals Jules bachelorette party in over the top shenanigans and laugh out loud moments. The addition of Jax as a supporting character was a great one! I hope we get to see more of him. There were so many lovely moments in this book that are so well written, you feel a part of the action. With each book in the series, Kristen’s writing keeps getting better and you can see it in the story telling. LOVED IT!
