WHY I READ IT
This was a mystery ARC, and I was intrigued to read a book without knowing the title or author.
WHAT I RATED IT
WHAT IT’S ABOUT
For every action, there is a reaction.
People aren’t always who they say they are. Everyone has their secrets. Some are more evil than I ever thought imaginable.
I was left broken and alone after my boyfriend was murdered in my bar.
An old acquaintance moves into Liam’s home and a spark is ignited deep inside me.
Becoming vulnerable made me weak, and I never saw it coming.
When obsession takes over, lies and deceit can be killer.
Intriguing, suspenseful and full of twists and turns! I received this ARC as a mystery, so I did not know who the author was or even the title of the book until long after the ARC had been read. This was my first mystery ARC, and I would love to read one again!
Catalyst hooked me from the first page, and I enjoyed reading the entire book. Tinsley is trying to pick up the pieces of her life after the death of her long-term boyfriend, Liam. You can feel her pain come through the pages; she truly loved Liam with all her heart, and is trying to find a way to move on, but is having a hard time doing that. Is it too soon? Is it the wrong person? You will find yourself questioning the author’s intentions time and time again through out this book.
Maguire is a man that Tinsley knew in college, but not well. He buys the house Liam and Tinsley shared together before he died. As time goes on, Tinsley tries to let go of Liam and move on with Maguire, but something is off. Tinsley starts to question things and the motives of some of those closest to her, and isn’t quite sure what is the truth anymore.
As the story progresses, you start to question things, and you get so hooked on trying to figure out what is going on that you didn’t even notice 3 hours have passed, and you’ve almost finished the book.
Catalyst is one of those rare books that kept even me guessing until the very end, and even the guesses I had ended up being wrong. Fans of romantic suspense will really enjoy this book!
