WHY I READ IT
I was looking to try a new to me author and I’ve been going through a insta-love phase so I knew I should give this book a try.
WHAT I RATED IT
WHAT IT’S ABOUT
Instalove! Fire Chief Aiden James often fell in lust, but not in love. Until the beautiful new librarian Carolina Mayfair showed up in his small town. The sparks flew and set them both aflame for one magical night, and the resulting inferno changed both of their lives forever.
Erotica, romantica, and all sorts of other stuff!
I loved the idea of the sweet, slightly sheltered librarian meeting the brash, outspoken fire chief and sparks flying. Both these characters were well thought out and likable characters that kept me interested and engaged in the story. I loved the dynamic of the town, the bar scene was awesome and left me wondering who’s story would be next and how it would go. The writing was solid with a great storyline and good flow that kept the book interesting and fun. I loved the character development of the secondary characters as well. It brought a lot to the story and made for a more interesting one!
What bothered me about this book is Aiden’s back and forth. He came charging onto the scene staking his claim and grunting “mine” from the second he saw Carolina. However all that seemed to vanish when things got tough. He backed away when he needed to crank it up to high and claim his woman.
Overall this was a solid book that cranked up the heat and gave you a dose of hot firefighter alpha. I would have liked to see what the author had done if this had been a full length book and not a novella.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Sarah O’Rourke is actually TWO besties who live three states apart and write at all hours of the day and night! Born and raised in the Southern United States, they are overly attached to their one-click accounts, can’t make it through the day without copious doses of caffeine, and spend way too much time on the phone with each other.
Between them, they have four children and eighteen years of marriage…one to a super soldier and the other to egomaniac engineer. They hate empty chocolate wrappers and writer’s block, love to talk to readers…and oh, by the way, they write about strong, kick-ass women and hot alpha heroes!
