WHAT IT’S ABOUT

Liam wasn’t supposed to be my happily ever after.

He wasn’t even on my radar.
He was my husband’s best friend
— forbidden.

But my husband is dead and I’m alone. I ache for him and I reach for Liam.

One night with Liam changed everything. Now I have to decide if I truly love Liam or if he’s just the consolation prize.

JACQUE’S REVIEW

Once you read this book, you will find that CONSOLATION is the perfect title. It is a story of devastation, loss, grief and new found love.

Natalie is pregnant with her first child when she loses her husband Aaron, a NAVY seal.  Even after the birth of their baby girl, Arabelle, Natalie is having trouble moving on.  It’s Liam, Aaron’s best friend that is there to help her.  And when they both start having feelings for each other we see them both trying to reconcile those feelings.  It when they start an actual relationship that they realize that this is something neither has had before.

Natalie starts to learn that her husband had secrets.  Secrets that are devastating to her.

I grab the piture of us with him behind me holding my shoulders and kissing my cheek.  I throw it against the wall with all my might and the glass shatters.  “I hate him!”

She has grieved for so long and she only saw the good of the relationship and doesn’t seem to remember the bad.

“I think Natalie remembers a different life than what she was living.”

But now she is mad but is starting to come to terms with it and Liam is with her every step of the way.  Until something from the past returns…

I loved seeing Liam come to Natalie’s rescue.  She seemed so weak in the beginning of the book and so buried in grief.  But Liam is there to pull her her out of her depression. Liam is the typical alpha male and you will fall in love with him and the way he loves Natalie.  And he loves Arabelle like she is is own.  And boy can I just picture that beanie on his head!!!  Great cover!!!  Thought it showed the intensity between the two!!!

This is first the book that I’ve read of Corinne Michaels and I am now a fan.  For me, I loved her writing style.  This story was very easy to read  and I truly did not want to put it down.  I’m looking forward to going back and reading the Belonging duet (Beloved and Beholden).
