WHY I READ IT

I am a huge Ilsa fan!

WHAT I RATED IT

5 stars

WHAT IT’S ABOUT

A scarred fighter.
A girl with rules.
One night of unbridled passion.

There are three things you need to know about Elizabeth Bennett: she’s smart as a whip, always in control, and lives by a set of carefully crafted rules. She’s learned the hard way that people you love the most always hurt you in the end.

But then she meets Declan Blay, the new neighbor at her apartment complex.

A tattooed British street fighter, he’s the campus bad boy she’s supposedto avoid, but when he saves her from a frat party gone bad, all her rules about sex and love fly out the window.

She gives him one night of unbridled passion, but he longs for more.

With only a cardboard-thin wall separating their bedrooms, he dreams of possessing the vulnerable girl next door forever.

One night. Two damaged hearts. The passion of a lifetime.

KATIE’S REVIEW

Whoa! A sexy mixed-martial arts master with a British accent that loves Jane Austen? Where do I find one of these men? Oh yeah, in Dirty English! Declan, aka Dirty English, had me captivated from page one! Dirty English is one of my favorite reads this year! I picked this book up late at night, and didn’t put it down until I finished it, sleep long forgotten!

I loved the push and pull between the hero and heroine, and I felt that Ilsa did a great job of making the characters act their age and feel realistic to me. They both had their egos to protect, and both act immature a time or two, but that’s what people this age are supposed to act like!

Elizabeth has suffered an incredibly tragic past. She doesn’t want an emotional attachments. I felt for Elizabeth, as no one should have to go through what she has gone through. I felt my eyes growing wet as we learned more about her past, and I didn’t blame her for trying to keep everyone out; but I was rooting for Declan to break through her walls.

Declan is fighting against his own fate and background, but he still sets his sights on Elizabeth. I loved how Declan is incredibly focused on his goal; his gym. He can be a brooding bad boy when he wants to be, and I found it intoxicating. Their relationship isn’t easy, but it was real.

Declan and Elizabeth have explosive chemistry, and from the moment they were in the room together, I felt like I could really feel that electricity coming through the pages. The sex between the two of them was explosive, and the build up to their first time made me anxious with anticipation!
