Frenched by Melanie Harlow – Amy’s Review

This book was recommended in a book group I was a part of so I bought it.  When we chose Melanie Harlow as our featured author for the month of March I decided to read this one.

When I got dumped by my stupid fiancé a week before the wedding, my plans involved nothing more than ice cream, a blanket fort, and a bonfire of his possessions.

But my friends convinced me that bitter tastes better drowned in Bordeaux, so I came to Paris for a single-moon.

Then I met him. He’s shown me things I’ve never seen before, and I’m not talking about the Louvre.

Is it just the seduction of Paris? Or could this be the real thing?

I had a hard time with this book.  I couldn’t seem to stay focused on the story, the littlest things would pull my attention away from it.  It started out strong but, when we got into the heart of the story I found myself not connecting with the main characters or the storyline.

This book was well written and had a good flow to it.  It just wasn’t for me.  A lot of the quirks that Mia had that should have been cute and funny just seemed to bug me, making it difficult for me to relate to her character.

I did really enjoy the little bits we got of Lucas.  I connected more with him and enjoyed his artist/musician lifestyle.  I wish we had gotten more from him to round out the story a little more.

Overall I think people will really like this book but, for me it just fell a little flat.
