How To Date a Douchebag The Learning Hours by Sara Ney ~ Amy’s Review

WHY I READ IT

Sara Ney is a flipping genius that’s why.

WHAT I RATED IT

WHAT IT’S ABOUT

He’s not a douchebag; but that doesn’t stop his friends from turning him into one.

MY FRIENDS WANT ME TO GET LAID.

So much so that they plastered my ugly mug all over campus, in bold printed letters:

Are you the lucky lady who’s going to break our roommate’s cherry?
Him: socially awkward man with average-sized penis looking for willing sexual partner. You: must have a pulse. He will reciprakate with oral. Text him at: 555-254-5551

The morons can’t even spell. And the texts I’ve been receiving are what wet dreams are made of. But I’m not like these douchebags, no matter how hard they try to turn me into one.

THIS ISN’T THE KIND OF ATTENTION I WANT.

One text stands out from hundreds. One number I can’t bring myself to block. She seems different. Hotter, even in black and white.

However, after seeing her in person, I know she’s not the girl for me. But my friends won’t let up–they just don’t get it. Douchebags or not, there’s one thing they’ll never understand: GIRLS DON’T WANT ME.

Especially her.

AMY’S REVIEW

Oh to live inside Sara’s mind if just for a little while.  It has to be a magical place if it came up with the men from the University of Iowa.  All of them different but with subtle similarities.  I’m in awe of her versatility when writing these characters.  Each one of them holds a different set of characteristics that endear them to you making it hard to decide which is your favorite.

This book blew me away.  I have always been a fan of Sara’s work but, I feel like she took this one to the next level.   It was romance at it’s absolute best.  A slow burn that injected just the right amount of secret smiles, the brushing of hands, and stolen kisses that left you so amped up by the time the characters took that final step you were ready to explode right along with them.  It was perfectly written so you fell in love with the characters individual and were rooting for them and their relationship the entire book.

I think this book will surprise people.  Sara took it to a place I wasn’t expecting.  It took me by surprise and made me shake my head while thinking “You got me on this one.”  It’s not often that a book does that for me so when it happens I know I’ve found something special.  I was extremely impressed with this entire series but, The Learning Hours is by far my favorite, today anyway…..
