Another year in the “books”! There are some “new to me” authors on my list this year but most are my go to authors that I will forever 1-click their books. I have to give a shout out to the Garden Girls this year! A lot of my favorites were recommendations from them!
Jacque’s Top Reads of 2017
Fire in His Kiss by Ruby Dixon
I am a HUGE fan of Ruby Dixon’s Ice Planet Barbarian series so trying her Fireblood Dragon series was a no brainer. She has a talent for making the next book as good as the previous book just like in her IPB series. Her imagination is endless! All of Ruby’s books are available on KU.
The Hookup by Kristen Ashley
Amy, Jenn AND Katie recommended this one. It is only the second book I’ve read by Kristen Ashley and I loved it. Sometimes you want the safe, sweet, easy reads and this book falls into that category for me. I found myself crying several times in the last 15% of the book and there were several things said that pulled on my heart strings. I’ve been converted to a KA fan! I can’t wait to read more!
CowSex by Lesley Jones
CowSex is one of the funniest books I have ever read! You all know I’m a big fan of Lesley Jones because of her Carnage novels. I wasn’t sure how she would do with a romcom but she hit it out of the park! Don’t let the title fool you! You will love Koa and Gracie! This is one great story!!!
Love to Hate You by Tijan
Amy recommended this one to me and I’m so glad I read it! I think its the best Tijan book I’ve read so far (but I haven’t read all). I love reading college stories, it brings me back right back to those crazy days!
Tempt the Boss by Natasha Madison
First of all, you gotta love the man on this cover! He is on so many covers but I don’t care! Natasha Madison is new to me this year and this book made me a fan!!! Check out the chemistry between these two! It is undeniable!
DRUMLINE by Stacey Kestwick
Cassie recommended this one to me and I loved it! Having just went through 4 years of watching my son on the high school drumline, I knew a lot of the lingo in this book! I knew as soon as I read it it was going to my fave list of 2017. Who doesn’t love a drummer, right? Available on KU.
EGOmaniac by Vi Keeland
This was on the my TBR forever but I just never got to it. When I told the girls I was looking for a good, easy read, Jenn recommended this one to me. You can never go wrong with a Vi Keeland book. Give this a read and fall in love with Drew Jagger!!!
Somebody Else’s Sky by Jessica Hawkins
This is the 2nd book in the Something in the Way series and it felt like I waited forever for it! It was truly heartbreaking but I still needed more! I finished it in record time and then was left waiting a few months for Move the Stars! Be happy the first 3 books are out now! Read them back to back to back!!!
Wednesday by Kendall Ryan
Another great cover! This is a quick read that will have you wanting more for Chloe. She deserves so much more. But how much can she get from Shaw…and will it be enough for her? You’ll love it.
Move the Stars by Jessica Hawkins
What can I say? This was my favorite book (and series) of 2017! Jessica brought us a story that I never thought we could get! You all know I’m not a fan of angst but I could not stop reading this! I cannot wait for Lake + Manning coming in February 2018!!!
Scandalous by L.J. Shen
L.J. Shen is also another new author to me this year. I kept seeing people recommending this one so I check out the blurb and dove right in. Another page turner that I could not put down! Available on KU.
A Different Kind of December by Lesley Jones
I know I say this all the time but I will never get enough of the Carnage novels. And honestly, I feel that every Carnage novel that Lesley writes is necessary. We die hard Carnage fans needed to go through this story as much as Georgia did! If you are a true Carnage fan, you will grab onto this one and hold onto it tight!
Bait by Jade West
I haven’t read much from Jade West but I have become a fan this year. Sometimes I’m in the mood for dark read and this was a good choice!!! If you are looking for a book on the darker side, give this a try! I was hooked right away! Available on KU.
If You Were Mine by Melanie Harlow
Melanie Harlow is a favorite of mine and even if she wasn’t this cover would have persuaded me to read this book! Feelings and emotion should not get in the mix when Claire hires Theo to escort her to a wedding and lines are crossed! Can these two opposites make it work? Find out for yourself! It’s a great read!
Play On by Samantha Young
The girls at the Garden know I’m such a big fan Samantha Young that they gave me the On Dublin Street signed paperbacks for my birthday a few years ago. Play On was recommended by Amy and I could not put it down. Beautifully written and my favorite since the ODS series. Available on KU.
Tied by Carian Cole
Carian Cole has been a 1-click for me since I first read Storm in 2015. I just love her books! Torn was my favorite read of 2016 and Tied was in my top 3 reads this year. The further along in Carian’s books I went and the more I got of Tyler, the more I couldn’t wait to read this story. Tied did not disappoint. Available on KU.
