Katie’s Top Read of 2016

Paper Princess by Erin Watt

My Review                        Purchase Here

Over the top drama meets rich heroes with too much freedom. Add in a down on her luck heroine, twists and turns in every page and it’s everything you want in a high school soap opera-esque book!

Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas

My Review                             Purchase Here

A great high school romance with realistic dramas and personalities. A strong heroine and a wounded Hero. I loved it! Pen is a great storyteller, never putting out anything less than absolute perfection!

With Everything I Am by Kristen Ashley

Kristen Ashley is one of my favorite authors, but even in the world of KA, this is one of her best. The love and commitment between Callum and Sonia is so beautiful, it’s almost painful to read. There are no words for how beautiful their love is.

Wild and Free by Kristen Ashley

Abel has lived a half life, pining for something, never knowing what that is. Delilah has lived a hard life, knowing something was missing. When these two collide in a beautiful way, nothing can get in the way of their love. Vampires, werewolves, witches and more all make The Three series finale nothing short of perfection.

Fairytale Come Alive by Kristen Ashley

This may be my all time favorite of all of Kristen Ashley’s books. This book left me a sobbing mess. My heart was bursting from the fullness and absolute sheer beauty in this book. While KA is known as the Queen of Epilogues, this epilogue might be the best one she’s ever written, hands down.

Wildest Dreams by Kristen Ashley

The first book in the Fantastyland series shows us a woman looking for adventure and a man that thinks he hates “her”. The clash, push and pull of these two is explosive and addicting. Add in some seriously epic tea, some dragons and royalty, you won’t want to put this book down!

The Golden Dynasty by Kristen Ashley

Starting out this book, I seriously thought I would HATE it, but boy was I wrong! I should have known to never doubt the abilities of Kristen Ashley to make me love a man I want to hate. You will love this wild, crazy, and shockingly beautiful tale!

Ruthless by Lexi Blake

My Review                          Purchase Here

Lexi Blake is a master of the romantic suspense genre, and Ruthless is no exception! Ruthless is filled with revenge and love/hate, even if some parties aren’t aware of the hate. Definitely a must read of 2016!

The Explosive Boxed Set by Tessa Teevan

My Review                           Purchase Here

Tessa pulled me in from page one, tears and all. This set felt like it had something for everyone. A brooding bad boy, a funny playboy, the overprotective single father and an open and loving best friend. Perfection!

The Bandit by B.B. Reid

My Review                       Purchase Here

B.B. likes to go places no one else will go. Kidnapping babies, ransom and extortion. Secrets and lies, danger and steam. Trust me, if you like things even a little bit dark, you will LOVE this book!

Alpha and Omega by K. Webster

What an amazing ride! I am not one to pick up a lot of paranormal romance, so if I do, it is carefully chosen. I would choose this one again and again! My heart ached so good from this book, I wasn’t able to read for a week after I finished! K is a genius when it comes to spinning a tale, and this one is one of her best!

Empire by Rachel Van Dyken

My Review                     Purchase Here

Mafia boys, crime, death and destruction. Definitely enjoyed this second chance, but not in the traditional sense, romance! Some parts were painful to read, but worked out in the end as one beautiful love story. #TeamSergio

The Consequence of Seduction by Rachel Van Dyken

My Review                         Purchase Here

A hilariously funny story of a frizzy haired ( I can definitely relate) woman and a celebrity. I may or may not have pulled a muscle from laughing so hard!

Jed Had to Die  by Tara Sivec

My Review                         Purchase Here

A hilariously funny whodunit story following a small town full of suspects. Weave in some crazy inappropriate comedy in traditional Tara Sivec fashion, and a steamy romance between the high school geek turned sheriff and the town’s prodigal daughter and you have a seriously memorable story!

Life Without You by S.P. West

My Review                        Purchase Here

A heart wrenching tale of second chances. Just when you think you’d read enough, S.P. pushes the limits and makes you rethink your boundaries. (Note, this book does contain cheating.)

Hallowed Ground by Rebecca Yarros

Purchase Here

Heart-wrenchingly beautiful conclusion to the Flight & Glory series, one of the most riveting books I read this year. Josh and Ember have had a seriously rocky relationship, bearing the weight of more than any couple should have to in a lifetime, let alone a few short years .Some surprising twists and one epic conclusion. You definitely don’t want to miss this!
