WHAT IT’S ABOUT

What he wants, he takes with no remorse or guilt.

She stood out in his club like a gem, unspoiled and untouched. A lamb among wolves, she clearly didn’t belong. Drawn to her innocence he watched as she was surrounded by men who saw what he did—but no one but him could touch her. He summoned her to his private quarters. He sensed her fear. He also recognized the desire in her eyes. And he knew she wouldn’t leave before he possessed her. She had no need to know his secrets. Not until he had her under his complete and utter control.

What he wants, she isn’t sure she can give him.

The moment he told her want he wanted, she couldn’t resist. Instinct told her to run, but her heart said stay and walk the fine line between pleasure and pain. Though she wasn’t sure she could ever completely surrender, the primal part of her wanted to try, even knowing this man could break her in ways she never imagined. Because once he possessed her, he owned her and it would be too late to turn back. She can only pray that he doesn’t destroy her in the end.

KATIE’S REVIEW

Mastered is the first book in the new Enforcers series by Maya Banks. There is a cliffhanger at the end of the book. Book two is set to release in May 2016.

Evangeline is a small town southern girl living in New York City. She had lived a very sheltered life until her move to New York, and had to learn at a young age to be self-sufficient. One night in a club changes her entire life, when she meets Drake Donovan, a tall dark and handsome club owner, with secrets of his own. You can feel the sparks from the moment they meet.

Evangeline and Drake have an explosive relationship, and grow very close very quickly. The sex scenes are hot, and left me with a blush on my cheeks. I especially loved that the scenes were very realistic, and did not feel like they were just thrown in to add some heat to the story; they progressed naturally along with the story-line.

I love (and hate) where the cliffhanger came in to play. I love that I was so enraptured in the story that I had tears streaming down my face, trying to click ahead on my Kindle to pages that aren’t there because I didn’t realize I was at the end, but I hate that I now have to wait for part two to be available!

I loved how Maya helped keep a air of mystery surrounding Drake and what his businesses are. There are still a lot of unanswered questions I have from the first part of the Drake and Evangeline part of this series, and I cannot wait for book 2!
