One King’s Way by Samantha Young – AMY’S REVIEW

one kings way review photo

I read this book because Samantha Young wrote it. Simple as that.

When he’s not working at the club, Craig Lanaghan looks out for his mother and little sisters. So when it comes to women, all he wants is a good time. But once Rain Alexander walks into his life, there’s no denying that this woman could be worth much more than a one-night stand….

Rain’s lifelong regret is having left her sister Darcy alone years ago with a guardian who turned out to be abusive. So when Darcy’s boyfriend publicly humiliates her in a cruel way, Rain’s overprotective instincts kick in and she follows him to Club 39—where she meets a guy who just might be her perfect match.

The chemistry between Rain and Craig is explosive, but Rain is out for revenge, and refuses to be sidetracked by flirtation. As things between them heat up, she’ll have to make a heartbreaking choice between giving in to the man of her dreams or putting her sister’s happiness first….

Ever since On Dublin Street I’ve wonder what Craig’s story was.  He had a small but impactful roll in Joss and Braden’s story that left me wanting more from him.

Craig was the perfect male character.  He always had Rain’s best interest at heart but, he was also clueless and had some double standards like only guys are able to.  He was such a strong and self assured character, making me like everything about him.  His devotion to his family was inspiring.

Rain was a refreshing character in this series because she wasn’t already a part of the group.  She has a unique and classy sense of style that I wish I could pull off.  Her devotion and past guilt concerning her sister made up so much of the storyline.  She was an open book about her past and it really enhanced the story.

I loved that the characters from previous books popped in but stayed firmly in the background and didn’t overshadow Craig and Rain’s story.  The new characters really rounded out the storyline adding extra humor and drama that built the story up.

A wonderful quick read that answered all my Craig questions but still left me wanting more from these two incredible characters.
