WHAT IT’S ABOUT

Madoc and Fallon. Two estranged teenagers playing games that push the boundaries between love and war…

She’s back.

For the two years she’s been away at boarding school, there was no word from her. Back when we lived in the same house, she used to cut me down during the day and then leave her door open for me at night.

I was stupid then, but now I’m ready to beat her at her own game…

I’m back.

Two years and I can tell he still wants me, even if he acts like he’s better than me.

But I won’t be scared away. Or pushed down. I’ll call his bluff and fight back. That’s what he wants, right? As long as I keep my guard up, he’ll never know how much he affects me….

JENN’S REVIEW

ndalone. It’s not necessary to read Bully and Until You first, but I think you should. It will enhance the story for you and show you more from Madoc.**

If you’re looking for a love story filled with sunshine and daisies, where sweet, sappy music plays on an endless loop, look somewhere else. This story dark, angry and gritty, and while it is still a love story, it is about as unconventional as they come.

Once upon a time, Madoc Caruthers and Fallon Pierce were step-siblings who loved to hate each other, until the night Fallon left home and Madoc never saw her again. Now, two years later, she is back. Madoc is pissed and wants answers. Fallon didn’t come back for Madoc (so she tells herself), she came back for revenge. What she didn’t count on was the pull she still felt for Madoc and how just being in the same room as him caused every bone in her body to turn to jelly.

When Madoc and Fallon are together, the chemistry is sizzling. All they have to do is look at each other and you feel the intensity of their feelings. That is all in the writing. Penelope Douglas could teach a master class in angst, longing and scorching hot sex scenes. I felt every emotion as they jumped off the page.

Who doesn’t love a strong, confident, feisty heroine? That is exactly what we get with Fallon. When she was taken from Madoc all those years ago, she channeled that anger and pain and used it to make her stronger. When Fallon came back to Shelburne Falls, she had a plan, and she put it in motion. She was going to make sure those who wronged her suffered.

On the surface, Madoc looks like your typical arrogant, hot guy. Different girls, fancy, fast car, super rich and independent. But he goes much deeper than that. When Fallon left, he was broken…a complete shell of himself. Madoc doesn’t realize it yet, but only Fallon can pick up his pieces and put him back together. When Madoc had Fallon, he felt unstoppable…powerful.

There are a tremendous amount of misunderstandings, hurt feelings and vindictive family members standing in the way of Madoc and Fallon’s happily ever after. Some of it maybe even be too much for them to overcome, but, if the learned anything from Jared and Tate true love is worth fighting for…and fighting is what they are prepared to do.
