WHY I READ IT

I love Sawyer Bennett and the Cold Fury Hockey Series!

WHAT I RATED IT

WHAT IT’S ABOUT

The stakes have never been higher for Carolina Cold Fury goalie Ryker Evans. With his contract running out, he’s got a year left to prove he’s still at the top of his game. And since his wife left him, Ryker has been balancing life as a pro-hockey star and a single parent to two daughters. Management is waiting for him to screw up. The fans are ready to pounce. Everybody’s taking dirty shots—except for the fiery redhead whose faith in Ryker gives him a fresh start.

As the league’s only female general manager, Gray Brannon has learned not to mix business with pleasure. And yet even this tough, talented career woman can’t help breaking her own rules as she gives Ryker everything she’s got. She hopes their hot streak will last forever, but with Ryker’s conniving ex plotting to reclaim her man, the pressure’s on Gray to step up and save a tender new love before it’s too late.

AMY’S REVIEW

The cover of Ryker is eye catching and the blurb draws you in.  As the fourth book in an already exceptional series I had high hopes for this one.  It delivered on all accounts. I got all the feels and a healthy dose of hockey.

Ryker is an exceptionally written book.  It’s days after I finished it and I still can’t stop thinking about it.  The storyline was one we’ve seen before but with the kind of twists only Sawyer Bennett can provide.  Her characters are expertly written and feel more like friends than characters on a page.

Ryker and Gray were both written with such depth and emotion.  The chemistry between them jumped off the pages.   I loved how different they were but still so perfect for each other.  They brought each other out of the ruts they’d found themselves in.  The dynamic between Gray and the team is intriguing and makes me wonder how a female GM would play out in a professional sports setting.

As we navigate Ryker and Gray’s story we get little glimpses into the lives of characters we already know and love.  Alex and Sutton, Garrett and Olivia, and Zach, Kate, and Ben.  We also get more of Ryker’s beautiful daughters Violet and Ruby who added so much to the story.  As well as his ex Hensley who stirs up drama like only ex’s can.

Another outstanding addition to a fantastic series that I hope never ends.
