Savage Urges by Suzanne Wright – Amy’s Review

To me Suzanne Wright is the epitome of epic paranormal romances.  Her books blow me away ever single time and I’m deeply invested in her Phoenix Pack Series.

She’s a lone wolf with a cause.

As a volunteer at a shelter for lone shifters—the same one that rescued her—Makenna Wray has dedicated her life to finding homes for its residents. And when she discovers that a teen in her care is related to Ryan Conner, the broody, handsome-as-sin enforcer of the Phoenix Pack, she’s eager to help connect the two. She just wasn’t prepared to feel a connection of her own.

Lone wolves are loners for a reason—and most of them bad. Or so Ryan assumes until he meets the mysterious Makenna. Quirky and sensual, she seems to enjoy riling him, especially when she refuses to discuss her past. Although there is no mating bond, he’s sure she’s the one. All he has to do is be patient and wait. But when another pack’s sinister Alpha comes sniffing around, threatening Makenna and her shelter, this enforcer is ready to let his wolf off the leash…

Suzanne Wright always blows me away with stories she tells. Knowing that I was sure that I would love Ryan’s story. Ryan is that guy who’s always in the background silent but standing strong. The first to volunteer when his pack needed protection. His past was fairly unknown but the scars on his body and soul were there for all to see. Getting so much insight into who Ryan is was as gratifying as I’d hoped it would be.
Makenna was not at all who I expected for Ryan but she was exactly who he needed. She was smart, sassy, loyal, and fierce. She has this quirky sense of humor and funny little superstitions that made me laugh out loud.

while this book was full of humor and fun it also covered a lot of hard hitting topics. From homelessness, murder, abuse, and much more. Some of the storyline broke my heart. It makes me wonder how an author can give us such an amazing story with out the topic breaking a little bit of them along the way.

With all our favorite shifters present and a whole new group of shifters to love this book had it all. Suzanne knows how to write amazing paranormal romantic comedy. I’ve read every book she’s released and loved each one more than the last. Even after getting Ryan’s book I’m still anxious to get more from this author!
