WHY I READ IT
Loved the blurb and enjoyed the first RS Grey book I read.
WHAT I RATED IT
WHAT IT’S ABOUT
With Olympic tryouts on the horizon, the last thing nineteen-year-old Kinsley Bryant needs to add to her plate is Liam Wilder. He’s a professional soccer player, America’s favorite bad-boy, and has all the qualities of a skilled panty-dropper.
* A face that makes girls weep – check.
* Abs that can shred Parmesan cheese (the expensive kind) – check.
* Enough confidence to shift the earth’s gravitational pull – double check.
Not to mention Liam is strictly off limits. Forbidden. Her coaches have made that perfectly clear. (i.e. “Score with Coach Wilder anywhere other than the field and you’ll be cut from the team faster than you can count his tattoos.”) But that just makes him all the more enticing…Besides, Kinsley’s already counted the visible ones, and she is not one to leave a project unfinished.
Kinsley tries to play the game her way as they navigate through forbidden territory, but Liam is determined to teach her a whole new definition for the term “team bonding.”
“She dreamed she could so she did”
This book had it all! Sexy, misunderstood, reformed bad boy? Check! Strong minded, not afraid to take anyone’s crap heroine? Check! Loyal best friends? Check! Mean girls who need a taste of their own medicine? Check! Hysterical one-liners and panty dropping sex scenes? Check Check!!
Scoring Wilder is the story of Kinsley Bryant, an up and coming soccer star and college freshman and Liam Wilder, professional soccer star turned college coach. Liam and Kinsley meet at a party and BOOM! Instant attraction. Attraction that is, until Kinsley learns that Liam will be the new assistant coach for her college soccer team. Translation… OFF LIMITS.
Kinsley is only 19, but she is quite mature. She has dreams of making the Olympic team and is focused on them. Kinsley has been burned in the past and isn’t quite sure about giving her heart away to a famous soccer player who is pictured with different girls weekly.
“Cheat on me once, shame on him. Cheat on me twice…what the actual f*** is going on?”
Liam works hard to break down Kinsley’s walls and gain her trust. Even though it forbidden, Kinsley and Liam start a secret relationship they try to keep covered from everyone. As difficult as that is, they refuse to give up their shot at a happy ending.
The supporting characters in this book really helped make this book as great as it was. Becca was the best kind of friend Kinsley could ask for. She listened when needed and brought a ton of humor to the story. The waxing scene had me in tears! Tara, while an evil, vindictive bit*h, showed you how strong of a heroine Kinsley was. Tara was pulling out every trick she knew to bring Kinsley down, but no matter what, Kinsley held strong to her beliefs. That is one of the things I loved most about the story. Kinsley and Liam had to deal with more garbage than most couples do in the early stages of their relationship, and they let NONE of it come between them. They communicated and spoke openly with each other. It was refreshing to see two people work on the problems in their relationship, rather than have it drive a wedge between them. Silly misunderstandings do not help a story line, they only complicate it. There was none of that here. Everything that happened in this book only served to drive the story. This is a sweet, smart, sexy and laugh out loud coming of age love story that you are going to love.
