Singe by Aly Martinez – Jenn’s Review

Aly Martinez is always a must read.

She was my nightmare. Every time I closed my eyes, I watched her fall into that inferno. Over and over, I failed to save her.

I hadn’t been able to reach her, and the guilt only burned hotter over time. Four years later, I was the unreachable one.

Heroes aren’t always saints. Sometimes, we’re nothing more than jaded sinners driven by sleepless nights and hearts full of darkness.

And then I met her. She was a dreamer who managed to soothe my scars and heal my wounds.

But, as the flames closed in around us, I feared I wasn’t the right man to save her. That is until I realized she was the one woman I’d burn the world down to protect.

There are a few authors out there that you just know will give you a quality story every single time you open up on of their books. They give you a story that will stay with you long after you’ve read the final sentence. Aly Martinez is one of those authors, and Singe is one of those books.

I knew it would be good, I’m just not sure I knew how good it would be. Jude and Rhion’s story gripped me first few paragraphs, and never let up. Two broken souls joined together by a shared tragedy? What could be more heart wrenching? Not much. Believe me when I tell you this book will break your heart, and you’re going to love it. This is an exceptionally well-written, seriously sexy, fast paced, love story, that you won’t be able to put down once you start.  We began on a roller coaster and didn’t get off the ride until the very end. There were so many twists and turns, that I won’t be sharing any of the plot with you. Not a thing. Go in blind. Fans of Martinez’s previous novels will recognize some familiar faces, and that was a real treat. Rest assured, you do not have had to read any of her other books to enjoy this one. These are new characters, which so much room to expand! I can’t wait for the next one.
