WHY I READ IT
I am a huge fan of paranormal and fantasy romance, so to have so many of those stories all together really caught my attention. It was exciting to see authors I was familiar with and new to me authors. While I didn’t read all twelve novellas I did read five.
WHAT I RATED IT

Love and Fantasy by Elle Christensen
One book; twelve love stories, twelve hot alpha men, and twelve swee, sassy sisters. There is so much to love about this book. The fairytale references, laugh out loud humor, amazing fantasy scenarios, and there is even a man bun!!! Oliver is a new favorite character for me, the way he thinks and does what he wants, he’s all alpha in the best possible way.
These stories are disguised as Insta love but Elle set up back stories for each of the couples so well that by the end of their stories I felt as if I knew them. Each couple left me wanting more from them, wishing they each had their own full length book. I found myself finding my favorites aligning with my favorite fairytales.
The writing in this book was perfect. Fun and engaging with no down time, I was enthralled and excited from start to finish. This storyline is both familiar and unique. The fairytales you know but as Kinsey said “Prince Charming was kind of a pussy.” These men are anything but!
I had a great time reading this book. I thought about it all the following day before breaking down and reading it again. I loved every second (both times) and would recommend to everyone!
Eternal Night by Marian Tee
I have always loved Marian’s writing style, her men are jerks and her woman are sweet and generous. This book is no different. Ever is sweet, loyal, and caring. Looking after her abusive aunt while dreaming of a different life. Her biggest dream? Having her very own Hade’s God of the Underworld.
When Ever finds a key that turns her world upside down the real fun begins. Crazy Gods who love to mess with “mere mortals” and hot, broody, and take charge King doting on her. She’s found everything she’s always wanted in life but, things don’t always work out how you want.
This is a very unique and entertaining play on an old Greek Myth. With characters you know but, with twists you don’t remember from the original story. Marian puts her own flare and romantic spin on it to make this story even more exciting than the original.
When finishing this story I found myself wishing for my own Hades!
Game Master by Scarlett Dawn
Arizona is badass, a trained assassin, dropped into a rural world of the past. Will her skills help her survive or draw the wrong kind of attention?
Arizona finds and key and then finds herself dropped into a strange land with even stranger people (see the talking frog). With her background and skill set she quickly acclimates to her new life and her new friend Lucifer. Arizona and Lucifer are best friends and brawling partners. They have each other’s backs in all things. So when the Royal Guard shows up and throws their life into turmoil these two need each other more than ever.
The action and adventure in this book really gets you going but, while it was exciting to read I felt like the storyline suffered. It ended so abruptly I was left just blinking and wondering what happened. I needed a little bit more from these characters before they were done.
Elfhame by Anthea Sharp
Adventure seeking mortal Mara finds herself in an enchanted world full of terrifying creatures. When she is saved from death by on of these creatures, a dark elf warrior, she quickly learns that she had been chosen by fate to fulfill a prophecy and save the elf realm from a darkness set to destroy it.
Mara is brave and strong, she holds her head high as obstacle after obstacle is thrown at her. While she misses her own world she doesn’t let that hold her back from helping the people in this new world that she is slowly growing to care for.
Brannon has been living with the prophecy hanging over his head his entire life. When he finally meets the mortal that is to fulfill it he finds himself enchanted by the strange woman. Brannon is selfless, strong, and bold. He does what he wants and he feels is best for everyone not just himself. While he isn’t your typical hero he certainly captured my heart.
Royal Enchantment by Lia Davis
The preface of this story was great and really had me intrigued. The lost daughter of a light and dark elf returns from the mortal realm to help restore magic to the elves and save the dark king.
While Ava was adjusted to the change from thinking she was human to finding out she was elf. She didn’t overreact to things and though things out before taking action, it made her a very fun and likable character.
Finn is the Dark Elf King who has been training as a warrior since birth so he could survive in a waring country. However you don’t really see that in the story. He is easily injured by his enemy multiple times and while I understand they were trying to set the preface that Ava was this all powerful elf I felt like he shouldn’t have fallen to his enemy so easily.
The writing in this book was great and there was so much potential for this story but the entire thing seemed rushed to me. I would have loved to have gotten a lot more from theses characters.
