Have you read the UNTOUCHED series by Lilly Wilde? This is such a great series – it’s one of my favorites! It’s definitely a series to put on your TBR. With the fourth book in the series coming out tomorrow (6/7), we thought it was the perfect time for her to shine as our MONDAY MORNING SPOTLIGHT AUTHOR! Check out what she had to say to our questions!!! ~Jacque
Have you always wanted to be a writer?
I can’t say that I have. I fantasized about it about 12 year ago and then I let go of the fantasy until a couple of years ago and now I can’t think of being anything else!
Are you a full time writer? If so, what did you do in your “previous life?”
No, unfortunately not.
If you could go back in time, what advice would you give your younger self?
I would tell myself to obtain my college degree sooner and to stick with my original major.
Do you work on one storyline at a time or do you have multiple storylines in the pipeline?
I currently have about 4 storylines I’m working through.
Let’s play favorites! Who is your favorite character you’ve written?
Aria Cason of The Untouched Series.
Have you experienced any of your stories personally?
Not really, if I have, it’s in a very miniscule way.
What are your biggest distractions?
My day job…lol
What is your least favorite part of the writing or publishing process?
Self- edits would be my least favorite part of the writing process and in regards to publishing I would have to say, the different formats that are required for each distribution platform.
Do you find it difficult, or challenging to write from the male POV?
No, I do not.
What activities do you enjoy outside of writing?
Do you have a favorite author or book?
I’m a huge Twilight fan- can’t say I have a favorite author.
Ever think you have a great idea for a book, only to find out someone released the same storyline already?
I don’t think along those lines. The way I see it, every story has been told, so we are simply re-telling them in different ways. I never look to see what others are doing anyway as I don’t want it to deter my process.
Have you ever had writer’s block and how do you work through it?
Yes, I tend to do something non-writing related and start fresh the next day.
Do you ever find yourself jumping up from the dinner to table to jot down a scene that just ran through your head?
I find myself interrupting most of everything I do outside of writing to jot down ideas/notes.
What does your writing workspace look like?
It is a huge mess that I can’t seem to organize! I have books, swags, notes, calendars, flash drives, etc. You name it, it’s on my desk. So frustrating!
Sharing your work with the public has to be scary. How do you respond to negative reviews?
I consider them only if they have valid reasons for being negative. To simply say, “I hate that the character did this or that”…I don’t let those bother me because the reviewer didn’t properly review the book. They only rated it based on the fact that the character didn’t do as THEY would have wanted and that is not at all fair to the author. But I NEVER respond to negative reviews. I read them but I don’t respond to them.
Do you have any visuals for your characters from any of your books?
Can you tell us what you are working on next?
I’ll be tying up The Untouched Series with Only His Touch and then Forever Touched. Then I will be starting on the No Longer Broken Series.
What is in your purse right now?
Are you kidding? It’s too full of crap to even write it all down.
Do you have a favorite scene or book of your own?
I do on both counts. My favorite book so far is Touched, Book Two of The Untouched Series. As for the favorite, scene…there are too many to count.
