Their love led to a lie
Their truth led to the end

Brigs McGregor is crawling out from the ashes. After losing his wife and son in a car accident and his job from his subsequent downward spiral, he’s finally moving forward, getting a prestigious teaching position at the University of London and a new life in the city. Slowly, but surely, he’s pushing past the guilt and putting his tragic past behind him.

Until he sees her.

Natasha Trudeau once loved a man so much she thought she’d die without him. But their love was wrong, doomed from the start, and when their world crashed around them, Natasha was nearly buried in the rubble. It took years of moving on to forget him, and now that she’s in London, she’s ready to start again.

Until she sees him.

Because some loves are too dangerous to ever indulge.
And some loves are far too powerful to ignore.
Their love just might be the life and the death of them.

Another great story starring one of the McGregor boys!  I knew I would fall in love with Brigs!!!  The Lie is a story of love and heartache but also second chances.

Isn’t love supposed to be easy?  Falling in love with a married man with a child was never Natasha Trudeau’s plan.  But that’s what happens to her when she meets Brigs McGregor.  She wasn’t being malicious or calculating to get Brigs, if anything, she fought her feelings.

Brigs is unhappy in his marriage but never thought to do anything about it until he meets Natasha.  Theirs is a deep love that formed over time.  It’s when they both realize what each other’s feelings are that Brigs knows he has to ask his wife for a divorce.

He never realized his actions would have such devastating consequences…consequences that would destroy everything he loved as well as their relationship.  They never intend to see each other again.  But four long years later, it happens.  And when it does, you know the love is still there.  Watch them reconnect and see if they are able to move forward and learn how to deal with the past.

There was such a forbidden chemistry between Brigs and Natasha that I appreciated especially since their original relationship was not built on a physical one.  To see their relationship destroyed before it even had a chance to begin was heartbreaking.  I really connected with the writing on this one because I felt there was several times that the story could have gone a few different ways, but went the way I was hoping.  🙂

Every time I’ve read a book from this series, I say it’s my favorite.  Well I’m saying it again and also that it’s absolutely my favorite read by Karina Halle.

What a great title for a book!  When I first started it the title had one obvious meaning to me but by the end of the book, there was a totally different meaning. You will love it!!!
