WHY I READ IT

I’ve been a huge fan of this series and Sawyer Bennett.  I need more of the Wicked Horse, the silo, and everything it entails.

WHAT I RATED IT

WHAT IT’S ABOUT

Rand Bishop’s dreams of Olympic gold were shattered years ago but he’s left that all behind, settling into a new career and lifestyle that would make any man jealous. While he may not be competitively racing down the ski slopes anymore, he’s just as happy getting his rocks off as a Fantasy Maker for The Silo.

He’s good at what he does.
Damn good.

But while life couldn’t be better for Rand, it seems to be falling apart for Catherine Lyons Vaughn, the dark haired, brown-eyed beauty that has captivated an entire sex club.

Having spent years degrading herself on her husband’s whim and now left destitute after his death, Catherine has hit rock bottom. With nothing but her body to peddle, Catherine is merely trying to figure out how to survive in a harsh, cruel world. Lucky for her, Rand has taken her under his tattooed wing, and he’s determined to give her a safe life where she can be the woman she was always meant to be.

Now all Catherine has to do is believe she deserves the chance.

AMY’S REVIEW

Sawyer Bennett has done it again. This was such a great book. Solid characters that you fall for from the moment you meet them (the real them) and you just fall deeper the longer you read. Rand and Catherine are not at all what I expect them to be from the brief glimpses we got from them in previous books. They are both amazing people that you can’t help but love.

Rand is sweet, confident, and sexy. He knows who he is and never doubts himself. He always has the best interest of others in mind when he does things. He’s generous and heartfelt. He may actually be the perfect guy. He describes himself as having a hero complex but, I think he is just genuinely a good guy. His life hasn’t always been perfect but, he’s made the best of it and doesn’t look back.

Catherine is such a complex character. What you see is not what you get. Watching her struggle to figure out who she is and what she wants for herself was difficult and yet beautiful. Her life has been full of disappointment, self loathing, and doubt. But then she meets Rand, really meets him and her world changes. How she feels about herself changes, and Cat emerges. This beautiful, intelligent, woman with a heart of gold. He brings so much to her life but, it’s up to her to hold onto it and make it her own.

With people from both their pasts trying to stir up trouble. Their involvement with the Silo and self esteem issues rearing their ugly heads their path to happiness is a full of pot holes and wrong turns. Watching them navigating it and leaning on each other and those around them for support kept this story engaging and fun from start to finish.

With cameos from all our Wicked Horse favorites we get a touch of each book before it. Reminding us of our love of sweet Callie, sassy Sloane, and their wicked sexy men. Bridger is back doing what he does best protecting the ones he loves and making us long for his story. I’m fully invested in this series and can’t wait to see what comes next.
