WHY I READ IT
Big fan of Jessica Hawkins….plus I wanted to hear all about Finn!!!
WHAT I RATED IT
WHAT IT’S ABOUT
No matter how cruel it’s been to me in the past, I’ve never been able to flip fate the bird. I’m a romantic at heart. So when fate drops a leather-bound journal at my feet, I know I should walk away.
I don’t. I pick her up, bend her spine, spread her pages. From the first word, I’m a goner. The owner didn’t give me access to her most intimate desires, but I devour them anyway. Her private darkness, her candid, sensual poetry–it all goes down like warm milk. And from that point forward, I drink, eat, and sleep her.
I went to his apartment and let him take my picture. Just once, to see how it would feel. I’m not his to look at, to inspire, to touch, but when he watches me through his lens, it gives me a high I don’t want to come down from…
My journal is the one place I can be myself–as long as I can tie it up and put it away when I’m finished. But when Finn undoes the bow, he pulls strings that could unravel each of us.
Yours to Bare is Finn and Halston’s story. If you are a fan of Jessica’s work, we met Finn back in Slip of the Tongue and we all know how that worked out for him.
Even though he went through all that pain in SoTT, Finn wants someone to love but doesn’t think he will ever find the intensity he thought he had with Sadie. Halston has her own issues and is just going through the motions with her own relationship…playing it safe. But that all changes when Finn finds her journal. It’s the words within that journal that are the catalyst that brings them together. They both have some serious baggage with a past they can’t run away from but they are exactly what each other needs. Give it a read and find out what happens. It such a great story!
I could not put this down. I was hooked right away! This is a story full of wanting, need, lust, love and some pretty steamy scenes. You will love it.
I have been a fan of Jessica’s since the Cityscape Trilogy and I have loved everything she’s written since. If you haven’t read her yet, put her on your TBR. She will become a favorite!
Yours to Bare just made one of my top reads of 2016 list!
